R815 pci express error interrupt

Hello,

We have a cluster of 20 R815 machines that were all powered off and restarted today. All but one machine rebooted fine. The computer that didn't boot had the error:

pci express error interrupt F000: 

and after the F000: are 4 characters that seem to change with every reboot. There was nothing done to the machine when it was powered off and it is identical to the other 19 machines in our server but it is failing to boot past this message.  If anyone has any suggestions on how to go about diagnosing or fixing this error, I would appreciate it.

T20 DisplayPort connections support audio?

I know it is odd for a server, but I need to connect a TV to the T20 with a DisplayPort to HDMI cable. Picture is fine, but I am not getting audio on the TV. A. Does the T20 pass audio over DP? B. If yes, what is the combination of drivers to get it to work? Thanks

PowerEdge R420 has issue: "System board 1 riser config err 0 config error out of 434 sensors"

Hi all,

My server has deployed VMware  ESXi 5.5.0 and has alert as title:

""System board 1 riser config err 0 config error out of 434 sensors"

I performed some workarounds  but the issue still happens:

+Clearing alert/log from iDRAC then rebooting server

+Disable iDRAC

Could you please help me to cover this problem?

Dell UPS 5600w - Remaining battery time always 0% after graceful shutdown

Hello,

we just got a new Dell UPS Rack 5600W. It works fine so far, there is just one little thing that I can't explain.

During our graceful shutdown tests, we discovered that after the UPS gets powered off (after all systems connected to it are shut down) the remaining load in the UPS is always 0%. That happens even if there was about 20% left in the batteries after everything got shut down.

You can see the phenomenon here. Since everything seems to be working normal, the question is: Is this really a normal behaviour or should I be worried about it?

BLADE CHASSIS1 PowerEdge M1000 e

This M1000e has 8 ESXi 5.1 hosts and directly connected to the Dell Compellent SAN. 

We need to change the mid-plane of the M1000 e.

We will shut down all the 8 Blades. Do I need to do anything to disconnect the M1000 e from the Compellent

How do I go by shutting down the M1000e for repair.

MAS022 in "device manager"

Hi after a Firmware and bios upgrade (via lifecycle controller) on an R720, I am noticing a new device in my Device Manager:

 

MAS022 in "device manager" listed under storage.

 

How can I make this go away and why does it show up?

PowerEdge 2900 E1410 CPU IERR was asserted

I got a error mesaage in the front panel of PE2900 E1410 CPU1 was asserted.(CPU1 Status: Processor sensor for CPU1, IERR was asserted).  The problem is fixed by restarting the computer yesterday.  However it happened again today and could not boot any more.  Is there any one could help me..

Sorry if this has been asked a million times.............. I have 2 PowerEdge R510's with BIOS fully updated. Bought 4Rx4 PC3L-10600L memory sticks. Server will not recognize them. Are they compatible and if so, what am I missing?

PowerEdge VRTX with R1-2401 VRTX 1Gb Switch Module - cannot connect port gi1/1

I don't know if this is a server or network issue, but I post here anyway..

Trying to set up a Dell PowerEdge VRTX with a R1-2401 VRTX 1Gb Switch Module. But port gi1/1 insists that is in a down/down state. The OS also says not connected. What I am doing wrong? All other ports are connected fine.

This is a M620 server, if that helps at all.

Is there any way for me to use 8 sticks of RAM in my r610 when RAM slot b4 is bad?

Hi all,

I am trying to upgrade my R610 to 16 gigs of ram, and am getting beat up terribly. Slot b4 is bad, and the bios disables it on every boot. I have tried just populating channels 2 and 3, but it complains every time and tells me it really wants the RAM in channel 1. 

Does anyone have any ideas for this situation, or am I SOL? Any advice on somehow getting a bad RAM slot to come back to life?

Poweredge R610 Mixed Memory

I had a question regarding this Mixed Memory.....we are adding memory to 2 of Our R610's and got the Warning regarding the Mixed memory....but it booted up and seemed to run fine.  soooooo where are you goign to run into problems?

we are running

16G , 8G

16G , 8G

8G, 8G

on one side and

16G , 8G

16G , 8G

8G, 8G

 on the other.


take the two 8G, and 8G's out and I get no errors.

but I drop from 128G to 96G

anyone done this???......have any issues?

Installing New HDD on PE 1950

Hi All,

I recently had a PE 1950 which I am planning to use for 3d and other engineering applications. I managed to get a new HDD with specs below:

Ultrastar 15K600 HUS156045VLS600, 450 GB, 15k RPM, SAS

When I installed it on my PE 1950 and run the disc controller setup, it shows Wrong Type and I cannot configure further.

Any work around / advise to fix this?? I purchased 2 new disks and would appreciate the help.. Thanks

iDRAC 7 Launch Virtual Console fails with Access Denied Error

Hello,

whenever i attempt to  launch video console from idrac 7, it fails with an error "Access Denied"  This is weird because i am logged in to idrac as the root user. i am using JDK 1.6 . I have tried through different browsers and i still get the same error.

ok so I have a rack that stands to my chest, with 24 slots for different servers. I have the dell precision R5400 work station or server slide into it.. and the dell 582 under it.. has a dell power edge console 15fp that slides out and has a monitor and keyboard and a dell power edge 2600 tower. a cisco esw 540 24 port. also a power unit on the side witch you plug everything in.. then plug that into the wall so you dont have to have 10 different power plugs hooked into a power outlet.. the precision r5400 has 2 xeon e5430 quad cores running 2.66 a NVidia quadro fx 3700 video card. adapter settings show a vnc mirrow driver. not sure how much ram.. it did have windows vista enterprise still has the sticker on it but I upgraded it to windows 7 enterprise. in windows 7 shows processor 7.6 ram 7.6 video 6.8 gaming video 6.8 and hard drive 6.0 and im getting the rest of it Monday more monitors and such. I was just wondering if maybe some one would give me a idea on how much its all worth.. it all runs beautifully.. I looked up the cisco esw 540 and online they go from 1,000 to 2,000 im planning on putting it on either ebay or craigslist. so I wanted a general idea on how much to put it at.. I no the rack tower alone goes for a pretty penny. and like I said this things a beast.. any help be helpfully and much appreciated.. many thanks

PERC H310 WHS 2011 driver

Has anyone managed to resolve this yet ?

I also have a PERC H310 in a mini server running WHS 2011, and have the same issue, I currently have the driver -

Loaded in but no other Dell driver packages including MS Server 2008 (which WHS is derived from) will install

Some other forum posts imply its to do with UEFI boot, but by pressing F2 I don't get into firmware but sometime it allows the H310 to been seen in WHS, but if I reboot the server I loose the PERC

Changing CPU from a socket to another

Hello everyone , 

Hope you can give me some help with a poweredge 2900 having 2 CUP's sockets but Only 1 CPU , the 1st socket is OFF the server boot but nothing happen , i changed the CPU to socket 2 , the server boot but it halt with the messg : "change CPU from socket CPU 2 to socket  CPU1  " , 

I think there's some config to do but i can't enter system setup when i press F2 , it actually write " entering setup " but the system halt with the message above 

Can pls someone give me a hint :)
