Is there any detail setup guideline for enabling the DPAT on R620 servers?
I have followed the Guideline below to setup the DPAT, but it seems the freq (cpuinfo) in the OS still no change.

Poweredge 2970 Series,
Will not boot, not even to BIOs, No Warnings, No Errors, Blue LED on back, DRAC says powered on but No Video, No Power to USB devices, HDD not spinning up, Fans full then settle to low speed, CD drive does get activity then goes away.
Tried reseating the processors, tried reseating everything, new HDDs, new CD drive, reset BIOS by removing battery fro 10+ minutes.
Figured a bad Video GPU? Tried putting a PCIE video card in, no luck.
Its like it is hanging on something at boot time but I am unable to see what.

Is it possible to change the "From" address of the DRAC?
We cannot get a particular address to send alerts via smtp unless it has a certain suffix for smtp.
Or is there another way to get the DRAC alerts without SMTP?

After replacing M/B on a couple of 2970 and upgrading to Bios 4.2.1 M/B's wend off.
Same problem appeared with next 3 M/B's followed the first one.The servers work fine with older bios versions (1.3.2 or1.5.4) until we upgrade to latest one.
then crashes NO POST and errors about vdd voltage E1221 E1222 on lcd
Customer has 5 2970 working for 3-4 years without problem.After replacing M/B for some reason and upgading bios problems appeared.

Today I've perfomed several bios update process in four Poweredge T110. In one server, once the installation package has finished, during the reboot (light number 3 fixed), by error, I power off the server again but I think that the bios update was not finished. So, the fact is that when I power on the server, I don't get any bios message (fan is running, some lights inside the motherboard).. dead.
I've tried to clear NVRAM settings with the jumpers, but It doesn't get alive.
Any suggestion?
I have a Dell Power Edge 2650, on which the center emblem is flashing amber. When I open the console cover, the led readout says E08F1. Can anyone point me in the right direction here. What does this error refer to? What do I need to do to resolve it? The server is running fine otherwise.

I have red some other posts about enabling wol on a 2850.
When I press ctrl-s I get the NIC bios. It is on PXE and i can't change it. (dell bios has: "Enabled with PXE)
When I change it to "Enabled without PXE" in the dell bios, ctrl-s doesn't work.
I got wol enabled in windows.
Please help!

We have an poweredge R710 that has total of 16 GB memory (4x2 gb per 2 processors)
If I Understood it correclty We can remove all the current 8X2 GB memories and replace them with SNPP9RN2C/8G memories for our Poweredge R710.
The current memories for each CPU is: 2X2 GB memory in the 2 of 3 memory module (closes to CPU).
question:
If we upgrade to 4X8 GB memories ,should the 8 gb memory also be 2 for each memroy module? or we can put only 1 X 8 GB memory in the 2 of 3 memory module (closes to CPU). for each processor? or this is not so?
for example:
If I want to upgrade the memories to 32 GB for this server I must buy 4 X8GB and put 2 x 8 gb memory in the first and second memory module (closes to CPU) for CPU 1 and then 2 X 8 gb in the first and second module for the CPU 2, is this correct?

Yesterday i found my server remounted the filesystem in read-only, i was unable to create new files/directories and getting errors like "/sbin/fdisk: Input/output error" I went to the server and saw following error message on the display: "E1211 ROMB Batt".
Since i couldn't do a thing, i restarted the server and the warning message disappeared. All went well until the raid was loaded, the server didn't resume the boot and just did nothing, no error messages. I tried rebooting and pressing F2 to go in the setup, pressing ctrl + R to go in raid configuration and starting with a live cd but it just stopped after loading the RAID (and finding the drives). If i looked at the LED's on my disks in the first 2 bays (1 disk: the OS / 2 disk: a mirror of the OS) were blinking good (normal yellow) but the 3th ( used as an extra storage) was blinking yellow - orange - yellow - orange ...
Because i couldn't think of anything else i removed the disk and tried to restart again, without that disk the server booted without any problems.
Could it be because of the E1211 ROMB Batt that the server won't boot with that disk in it or is it just the disk that is faulty?

I have a Dell R910 that starts booting then stalls. the LCD display says "System Booting" but doesn't proceed beyond this point. If I press the power button shutting it off, then repress the power button turning it back on, it will boot correctly. I don't recall but it believe this behavior started when I updated to the latest BIOS a while back. Any ideas out there?

I recently installed Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise and activated Hyper-V and installed all available updates.
Upon reboot i am unable to boot into the OS, Systems settings, and/or Bios settings. Once it pauses for a few seconds with the message "Press Ctrl-E for remote access setup within 5 seconds" it just continues in this loop.
If I select F12 for to modify setting it says it is entering setup, however it never makes it into the settings. If when i receive the above message and I press CTRL-E it will go into the remote access settings.

Trying to use the Dell 500T UPS in a small office environment but the fan noise level is louder then the server it's protecting! The units only under 30% load and in a cool environment so my question is what noise levels should I be expecting?
The fan doesn't appear to change after powering on it's been constant, we have an APC 1200 that in comparison is silent so a little frustrating with the 500 :S

I'm having problems getting LDAP/AD authentication working on our 2161DS and 2161DS-2 KVM switches. I do have this working for our Avocent DSR1024 switches so not sure why this does not seem to work with the Dell models. The Dell switches have limited and slightly different settings when compared to the Avocent and the Avocent DSR1024 uses a service account to authenticate with AD while the Dell appears to use a certificate.
Here's what I've set (substituting generic values for our actual domain names).
Schema: Standard
Remote Console Switch Domain: <child>.<root>.local
Room Domain: <root>.local
Group Container: KVM Devices
Group Container Domain: <child>.<root>.local
Access Control Attribute: info
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this or if the values above need to be different?
