Hi,
Is it possible to change the "From" address of the DRAC?
We cannot get a particular address to send alerts via smtp unless it has a certain suffix for smtp.
Or is there another way to get the DRAC alerts without SMTP?
Thx,
John Bradshaw

I'm looking for a Signed Driver for the PERC 5/i. This is built into my 6850, but may be the same as the 2950. Willing to give either a try.
I'm installing a Windows OS that is asking for the signed driver, without which it can't see the hard drives.
I have been a Dell guy for a few years, but I still have some old servers from Dell competitors kicking around. Guess what? I can't upgrade firmware on them without spending an obscene amount of money for a 90 day software contract - if I can get one.
All of which makes me appreciate Dell's free download policy and quality hardware that much more.
You see, I have a little niche business where I buy off lease/recycled/remarketed older Dell machines, refurb and upgrade them and then use them for myself and my customers. It enables smaller businesses who can't afford the high upfront costs of buying new machines the opportunity to realize the potential of having servers in their environment.
These are businesses that typically have a bunch of haphazardly networked PCs. Or even a "server" built out of a desktop machine with a few hard drives stuffed in it. They still use flash drives for critical backups - if they even do backups. Etc..
I LOVE Dell for that because some day, these same customers will eventually buy a new machine or 2. Guess who they ask for advice and guess what I will tell them? Especially when I tell them that after warranty support for the "other guys" is non-existent but with Dell you can continue to at least get support, drivers and firmware updates.
Because of this, I have already guided one customer through the process of configuring and purchasing 2 new R720 servers to replace 2 2950s and 2 1950s I refurbed for him a couple of years ago. I have to wonder how many machines Dell will ultimately end up selling just *because* of this?
Good job Dell and keep up the good work. Please keep taking the high road by continuing your current support policy rather than trying to squeeze a dime out of everyone trying to keep older hardware running.
Dear Concern,
one our valued customer facing issue in R810 server memory utilization from memory redundancy option.
I have installed physical memory 128GB (4GB module) but showing 112GB from OS.
Our Troubleshoot step:
Note: Memory Redundancy Option set always Disable and not changeable like Spare, optimization or mirror.
Please suggest me how can I solve this issue.

Hi
Can anyone advise how I can disable the second NIC on the poweredge R420
I have been all through the bios and I can see where to disable it, is it possible ?
John
Server has following slots:
4 PCIe G2 slots:
Two x8 slots (one with x16 connectors)
One x4 slot (with x8 connector)
One x1 slot
Graphics card needs to support Windows server 2012 (are Windows 8 drivers compatible with Windows Server 2012?). I am not looking for anything fancy or fast, just something that can support 2 monitors via DVI or DisplayPort.
I looked at NewEgg graphics card section and find it difficult to understand what kind of interface I should pick. This is what NewEgg has for interface (I don't see any x8 or x4 as mentioned in Poweredge T110 II specs):
PCI Express 3.0 x16
PCI Express 2.1 x16
PCI Express 2.0 x16
PCI Express x16
PCI Express x1
PCI Express 2.0
PCI Express 2.1
PCI Express 3.0
Hello,
I am looking for guidelines of how to setup and install 16GB ram sticks on my R710. The goal is reach 96GB total RAM.
Following some posts, i realized R710 with ECC is unsupported using16GB sticks, so I'm looking for the correct setup for optimizer mode with 6x16GB and a setup for 2x16GB+4x8GB.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!~
I have tried all of the various recommended procedures to update this value in the BIOS, however, nothing has worked. Is there a secret to doing this on an PE -R610 server?
Hello,
I purchased a matching pair of processors on ebay to upgrade my dell 2850 server. After installing the processors, I keep getting this error about CPU being wrong revision.
The cpu's I bought are Intel Xeon SL8MA DP 2.8GHz Dual Core 4M 604 SL8MA CPU Processor
I am running the A07 BIOS.
Is there any setting I can change in the BIOS to make these processors work? Or am I for some reason out of luck and have to buy another pair of processors?
Thanks in advance.
If I pull out DDR3 1333MHz memory modules from an R610 or R710... then could I pop them into the R620 or R720? Are they compatible?
Thank you

Hi All I need to obtain a copy of addfilter.exe - Dell download link http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriverDetails?driverId=R177306
But the link doesn't work. Anyone have a copy or can point me to a valid download location.
Many thanks

Hi,
I have looked around for a couple of hours and realised that there is no way for me to get a straight answer from Google. So here it goes:
For some reason our Poweredge T110 ii server shows 2 network cards: one is called Intel(R) PRO/1000 PT Server Adapter, and the other called Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet. The thing is we only see one Ethernet port on the backplate of the server, and I don't think we actually have 2 cards installed on the board. I suspect if this is a driver issue but could not be sure.
Is it something standard on such a server, if so, how do we use the connections if we only have one port available? Thank you in advance for your help.
Jay
Does the 2950 and 2970 accept the same memory?
Do the R310's use the same type of memory as the R410's R510's and R210's?
Well, apparently this ML doesn't like pastes, and I don't feel like re-typing. Straight to the point then:
I've got 4 sticks of Dell A5184178. 16GB PC3-10600 DDR3-1333 Low Voltage Dual Rank ECC CL-9 etc.
Thinking I'd get 64GB at 1333 Mhz, but on boot only says 64GB 800 MHz, any memory config I try. How do I get 64GB at 1333MHZ?
Have a new R515 that was delivered 6 months ago, tried to boot the machine up today and... nothing. The server won't power on, the system information led only shows 'No POST code' when held down for 5 seconds. Power supply light is green, the problem must be internal.
