PowerEdge C410X connected to a T7500 HowTo

Does anyone have information or know how to connect a C410X to a T7500 workstation via a HIC card and utilize the GPGPUs (Teslas / M2090) for Maximus or CUDA or even just "seeing" the GPUs show up in Windows 7?
I've done a lot of research and everyone just seem's to place them in a computer configuration.

Any help would be awesome.

Thanks,

PowerEdge1950: Problem with the network to connect two PCI cards

Hello,
I have a PE1950 server and I am connecting two PCI cards for analog and GSM dial.
It happens that when you connect the two cards can not simultaneously access the network, the Ethernet interface appears with an IP set me but I can not log into the network.
I made the change BIOS settings for IRQ designation, making the change to IAS in all that allows me (5,6,11,10) but I can not get a successful outcome.
I have CentOS 6.5:
/ proc / interrups>
120719 120715 120719 120699 120724 120712 120695 120710 IO-APIC-fasteoi ioc0, Rhino RCB8FXX, wanpipe1, wanpipe2, wanpipe3, wanpipe4

All the interfaces are the same IRQ and can not implement any change from the BIOS.

I would be extremely grateful for your help.

Best regards.

PowerEdge R805 and Opteron 2435

I have two PE R805 servers and four Opteron 2435. On one server all four processors work in each possible combination. However, when i try to use the same processors in my other R805 it will not bring up a VGA display of boot and sits idly and doesn't appear to boot. There are no POST messages or errors on the LCD display.

Do only certain models of the R805 (Different motherboard part numbers) support the hexacore opteron platform? The problematic R805 came with 2x Quad-Core AMD Opteron 2360 SE chips.

Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated!

PowerEdge 2900 & 2950 problems

I need help please! I know my way around PC's but I'm lost when it comes to servers. Recently I picked up several servers which I planned on setting up in my house. They all came without hard drives, which I have replaced, and I was planning on installing Ubuntu 14.04.2 but I can't get either one of them to boot from the CD drive. I've gone through the setup and made sure the boot sequence starts with the CD but they still don't work. I've even hit f11 during start up and forced it to boot from the CD but they always tell me "no boot device found" or something like that. The first one is a PowerEdge 2900 tower and the other one is a PowerEdge 2950 rack mount. I've gone through 80 pages of forum post here and couldn't find anything that helped. Please help because I don't know what else to do.

Hello,

i am about to buy PV TL1000 and noticed that there are some options for 12G & 13G servers, i read that ( or from what i understand ) the difference is all about the processor version ( v2 is 12G and v3 is 13G )!   please correct me if i am wrong.

and, does 13G options (e.g. Controllers  ) support 12G servers and visa versa?

and how to recognize what generation is my server ? i saw on Dell website some 13G models and some 12G models, but didn't see where R220 belongs !

i hope its clear and apologize for my poor language.

thanks  a lot.

Operating System Not Found

We have a Dell VRTX chasis with a Power Edge M620 Blade Server. The OS installed is VMware ESXI 5.1.0.

All of a sudden I could not access the VMs and my analysis showed that the OS was not being detected. So I changed the boot options and it worked.

I spoke to Enterprise Technical Support for the RCA and proved to be useless

I am just wondering how the boot options can change all by itself. What triggers the change?

PowerEdge m1000e won't power on

We just got a used m1000e in, which was tested prior to receiving here.  Our configuration is 1 PSU's.  We don't have 208v here, but we do have 120v Single phase.

We have followed the specification document for power so that the three PSU's each have a 120v Single phase hookup capable of 20amps.

With three PSU's (or 6) hooked up we get ZERO power to the unit.  The PSU's have lights on the back that indicate when their plugged, failed, on.  After plugging in PSU's the green light which indicates the PSU has power supply never turns on.

Any ideas?  Thanks in advanced!

I bought nVidia Quadro 6000 for my PowerEdge T420 server but I can't find the way to connect power supply to the card. Standard 8-pin power cable won't fit inside the power supply socket on the power supply board.

Where can I find the correct GPU power cable? Please help!

PowerEdge 1900 Runs but can't get into it.

I have a PowerEdge 1900 that was given to me. I want to make use of it, but can't seem to get any image out of the VGA , Mouse and Keyboard. It was mentioned to me that those ports are probably set to disabled and only operated through the DRAC card.  However I don't have the Credentials needed to get into it. I've tried to reset the server by jumping the CMOS but have been unsuccessful. This unit was given to me with hard drives and ram. I have put all the necessary components in and can't seem to make this thing work for me. Is there anyone who knows these animals who can help me???

R710 won't boot after firmware update

Hi guys,

I wanted to reinstall a R710 so that we can use it again in our DC, and i saw that the firmware was a bit out of date (a lot actually).

So generated a bootable iso with the repository manager and let it ran on the server. It updated a few items (one of which was the BIOS) and they were all OK.

At the end it said that the program was going to turn the server off and that it should turn back on again after a few seconds, but it never turned off... I turned it off myself after 15 minutes and turned it back on, The fans start blowing out loud and then get quiet (as they should). The LCD display on the front first says Booting (or something like that) and then changes to the custom message that i've put in earlier.

And that's it.. The server hangs and I can't access it. No screen, no keyboard.

The Drac is working and says that everything is OK. The bios firmware version is 1.2.6. The Virtual console also says "No signal". There are no events in the drac that would suggest something is wrong.

What can I do to fix this? I need this server :(

Dell PE 2800 Riser Card and Motherboard question

$

I have a Dell PowerEdge 2800.  The original configuration was (1) Xenon 2.8 GHz processor and 8 GB RAM, along with a SCSI RAID 5.  I began receiving the 1-3-2 beep code about a week ago.  I pulled the RAM and replaced the sticks one at a time into slot 1B and still got the beep code.  I suspected the motherboard and so I purchased one and installed it per the manuals.  I also installed another 4 GB or RAM and added another 2.8GHz Xenon Now the server will not post.  The fans come on and the lights above each hard drive come on.  The server issues a single beep and then the light above the bottom row of drives go out and the lights above the top row of drives stay on.  My question is this.  I changed out the motherboard and the one I received said Rev A05 on it.  My original board said A04.  I also did not change the Riser card.  Would this have any bearing on my problem?  Any help would be appreciated greatly.  I have already tried pulling the new processor and just running with the original configuration and still no joy.

Get NIC1 MAC via IPMI - C6105

$

So on the Dell R-series servers I was always able to get the MAC address of the NICs by using "racadm.exe getSysInfo" . I now have a set of C6105's that do not have a DRAC but are accessible via IPMI.

I can see the MAC address in the BIOS in two lines, however I'm having trouble finding a corresponding IPMI command to pull them. Some of the LAN commands I see with MACs are showing the MAC address of the BMC, and not the NIC.

Does anyone know if there are any raw commands that can produce this data?

PowerEdge C6220 automatic S5/G2: soft-off for a whole rack of nodes

$

I have a rack of 5 C6220 nodes which for the last couple of weeks have all been turning off for no apparent reason. The BMC logs are not very descriptive as the S5/G2 message is the only message that appears in the logs (see http://imgur.com/Pts25qF

This used to happen once in a while (maybe once every 2-3 weeks) for one machine and for that time being I ignored it. However for the last couple of weeks this happens everyday. The machines don't respond to IMPI commands after dying. I have to manually go in the data center, unplug the two power supplies and plug them back in order to be able to boot the machines.

I found another thread that seems to have the exact same symptoms as me but there is no response (see http://lists.us.dell.com/pipermail/poweredgec-tools/2014-November/000302.html

1.0.21. I tried to grab the lastest BIOS from Dell (BIOS_YR4WF_LN_2.5.3.BIN) but unfortunately when I run the binary I get the following error:

> BIOS Update failed using Dell RBU method.

However, I am quite skeptical this is BIOS issue as these machines never used to have this problem before. I've been running out of ideas and would appreciate any help I could get.
