Renesas USB 3.x on PowerEdge R310

I have Renesas based PCIe USB 3.x controllers (PCI\VEN_1033&DEV_0194&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_04) in few R510 running Server 2012 R2 with NO issues.

USB3 speed to write/read. All good. Using default build-in driver - USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - %2 (Microsoft);(Renesas,0096)

Same card in R310, running same Server 2012 R2 using the same build-in driver, while showing OK in device manager, NO attached devices are ever seen (not just recognized, NOT seen)

No matter if it is USB stick, DVD, HD etc. Nothing.

Exactly same problem applies to Renesas based card with ID PCI\VEN_1912&DEV_0014&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_03 using build-in driver - USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - %2 (Microsoft);(Renesas,0100)

But if I use VIA based controller VEN_1106&DEV_3432&SUBSYS_34321106&REV_03 with build-in driver - USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - %2 (Microsoft);(VIA,0096)

then everything seems to work (but I feel that this card is way slower )

So it seems that something in R310 hardware/BIOS etc stops the Renesas controllers working correctly

Anybody noticed? Anybody cares?

Thanks

Seb
