I am new to working with iDRAC and LCC and am trying to fix a problem with a SMBs T610. The way it was hooked up, all ethernet connections are going through a chinsy Realtek AIB and I just discovered the bit about the Express's NIC sharing with OBP1 and was just wondering how that works. I could probably answer my question by poking through the BIOS and FW interface but it is a production server so I am going to have to schedule downtime and wanted to be prepared for when I have it cabled properly.
When you assign an IP address via the FW interface that is within the LAN subnet, does it just become pingable?
Second Q for you with a preface: I tried my best to research this issue the server is having in general and one suggestion was to repair the LCC. Another was to drain the "flea power" from the iDRAC to get it out of this "firmware upgrade already in progress" funk. Is the USC file basically like a firmware BIN that I can feed into iDRAC when I get it working?
