Issues on Installation of GPU on R730

Hi,

I purchased an R730 Rack Server and an Nvidia Tesla K40 GPU, and I would like to install it to my server by myself. However, I am having some troubles.

Here is some information on the server spec.

16X  16GB RDIMM, 2133 MT/s, Dual Rank, x4 Data Width (370-ABUG)

1X     Dual, Hot-plug, Redundant Power Supply (1+1), 1100W (450-ADWM)

2X     1TB 7.2K RPM SATA 6Gbps 3.5in Hot-plug Hard Drive,13G (400-AEEZ)

1X     Intel Xeon E5-2630 v3 2.4GHz,20M Cache,8.00GT/s QPI,Turbo,HT,8C/16T (85W) Max Mem 1866MHz (338-BFFU)

And I have already installed the GPU as following:

Without the additional power supply, I cannot find the GPU on PCI port using "lspci" command.

And then I brought a 8pin to (6+2)pin power cable, as follows

When I connect the white 8 pins on the right-side of GPU with the 8pin on GPU, the system report "current overflow".

When I connect the white 8 pins on the right-side of GPU with the 6 pin on GPU, the system starts normally but I still cannot find the GPU using "lspci" command.

So my main question is that do I have enough power overall?

I guess the next solution I will try is to install another 6pin together with the  white 8pin from the other PCI port on the right of the first picture.

I can provide more information if needed. Thanks for the helps!
