I recently purchased a Dell PowerEdge 1950 with a DRAC 5 installed. When I received the server, the DRAC had v1.0 firmware, so I upgraded it to 1.65. The upgrade was successful, and I can login to the web server no problem. The console works just fine. I can power up, power down, edit the setup, and basically do whatever I want on the system.
The virtual media section does not work at all. I've tried uploading the following two virtual images:
- http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/6.0.7/amd64/iso-cd/debian-6.0.7-amd64-businesscard.iso
The uploads both get to 75%, then fail.
The next thing I try is virtual media to see if I can mount a local drive, and that fails too.
- Attach/Detach status: Auto attached
- Plug-in Type: Java
I have tried all permutations of those settings and all result in failure. I get as far as launching the VM all the way to launching the DRAC5 Virtual Media Client, and the message that comes up is "Unable to launch the application." with a big red stop sign.
The same behavior happens in the latest Firefox and IE10.
Is there anyone else out there experienced with this issue?
