My organization recently purchased approximately 204 Dell PowerEdge R620 servers in order to do a refresh on our systems across the world. I received the first 12 servers and discovered an issue while building the first two.
I have configured the drives using the PERC interface in the configurations I want. I installed the O/S and most of the software that will be used on the servers out in the field. At this stage, I typically create an Acronis backup image to preserve the work I have done before proceeding with additional configurations, security hardening, and application installations.
However, when I boot into Acronis, the software fails to read ANY drives on the server except for the USB drive I usually write the backup image to. Is there any reason to believe there is something in the PERC or OpenManage software that would prevent Acronis from recognizing the drives?
This process is tried and tested on previous hardware versions (PowerEdge R610 & R710).
