Hey DCF community and Rockstars!

Summer is here and I know we are all feeling the pain from sun burn or higher energy costs but probably both! One of the topics we are often asked about is system efficiency and ideas that can help lower those costs. This week discussion is all about system efficiency solutions and wanted to share a few things around this week's topic on Dell Community forum and on twitter via @DellCaresPRO.

A very highly recommended starting point when looking at your next business purchase are the Dell Energy Calculators! They include quick access to the Client Energy Savings, Monitor Energy Savings and for your larger environments the Energy Smart Solution Advisor and Data Center Capacity Planner. With Dell, we continue to be ahead of the technological curve by with every new product release and you can see this between the different versions and generations of systems. http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/uscorp1/corp-comm/earth-cio-corner-tools

Power supply configuration and troubleshooting is another common topic that we see within the forums. Understanding your needs will help not only impact your energy costs but can save a lot of time and headaches on things like deployment. Here is a Knowledge Base (KCS) article covering power supply configuration and troubleshooting. http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/19/kcs/kcsarticles/articleview?docid=601795

Lastly, I personally wanted to share a story that I thought was pretty great. "The solar powered classroom brings technology where electricity isn't". Re-purposed shipping containers powered entirely by solar panels, the #PowerToDoMore happens where Dell powers imagination and determination! http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/uscorp1/corp-comm/solar-power-youth-learning?c=us&l=en&s=corp&cs=uscorp1

We will be up all week to answer and discuss all things energy or cooling. Please let us know what you think and follow the conversation both on Dell Community Forum (DCF) and on twitter at @DellCaresPRO

Ok, stay cool out there friends!

Todd Pietzsch with your @DellCaresPRO Team
