Hello! I'm sorry if what I say isn't as informative as it could be or I sound clueless on various topics but I'm very new in this space and have encountered an issue.
My server has been running fine recently until at one point it crashed in the middle of the night... That morning I started it back up and was alarmed to see the message:
Memory /battery problems were detected. The adapter has recovered, but cached data was lost. Press any key to continue
So I, a bit concerned pressed the key to continue. Upon booting into my Operating System (Ubuntu Server 13.04) I noticed some strange errors and issues. After logging in to the session I found that standard Unix utilities were crashing and just not working (such as ls...), whenever I attempted to read a file I would get back an IO error, so I knew something was wrong. I thought maybe my OS was corrupted? So I've tried reinstalling Ubuntu Server, but it refuses to install. Either it can't detect the drives OR it freezes at 1% during installation and comes back saying it can't install. So now I know this is a deeper hardware related issue, so now I don't have any operating system on my system and can't install a new one, does anyone know what I should do?
Sorry if I don't really know what I'm doing, but seriously any help is VERY much appreciated.
Thanks!
