First post here ... anyway, I have a Dell D630 that has a couple of issues. Firstly: the wireless internet is slow. On this comptuer, I can download at only about 10 - 15 kbps, whereas on my other computer I can get around 100. This other computer, though, is older, has lesser specs and should in theory be slower. Why might the D630 be connecting so slow? (It is definitely related to the computer not the network).
Also - and this isn't a hige problem, but it's annoying - whenever I shut down the comptuer, it shows my desktop (without icons or the taskbar though) for about 5 or 10 minutes before it does the "logging off, windows is shutting down" etc. Why could this be happening?
It is running Xp Pro with SP3, 2GB Ram, and Intel Proset Wifi. There is no risk of viruses or malware etc becuase I recently wiped the HDD and reinstalled XP on it.
Also - I have a D620, it has no HDD and currently isn't usable, however, when it is turned on there is a buzzing noise, that usually goes away after about a minute. I can't pinpoint where the noise is coming from. Any suggestions?
