I recently took delivery of a Digium "4 port modular analog PCI-Express x1 card" with 1 FXO and 1 FXS card for our Dell PowerEdge R230 1U rack mount server.
Unfortunately, I didn't realize until after acquiring and installing the card that it needs a separate 12V supply.
Further, the Dell R230 has no stock-standard 12V/5V Molex-style HDD power supply connectors internally and the other PCI slot is already being used by the PERC H330 RAID controller.
Has any one run into similar issues or challenges? I am thinking I need to build a custom connector to take off power from the unused eSATA connector from the embedded RAID controller or that the four unused pins on the power supply for the DVD-ROM drive may provide what I need.
Any well-worn-path experience here would be welcomed.
What is the precise pinout of the Digium 12V connector and what is the specification for the connector? I will need to fabricate something custom for this application and need to know what connectors to source.
