I've seen both older and newer model tower servers ... I'm frankly curious what makes the older ones so much longer than their more modern counterparts ... my friend has a PowerEdge 2900, and it's huge, barely fitting in his closet. On the other hand, he's got a T300 as well, and it too has hot swap like the 2900, yet the T300 is a shorter unit. Does the length come from the power supplies being hot swap/ I'm wondering since if I end up with another tower, it sort of has to fit under a desk.
