I recently purchased a R730xd. Since I don't really need any RAID functionalities, my R730xd doesn't have any hardware RAID controller card. But it seems that I cannot directly connect my hard drive to the motherboard without a controller.
And according to the documentations, the R730xd has an on board SW RAID S130, and the connectors are J_SATA_A and J_SATA_B. So my question is, how should I connect the cables to use this S130 controller.
PS. the J_SATA_A & J_SATA_B connectors are actually dual mini-SAS socket. How should I connect them to the backplane?
