Dell PE1950 Perc battery stuck in Learning state

Recently replaced the PERC battery in our Poweredge 1950.  I manually started the learning state where it has been sitting for about a week.  The properties say:

Firmware Version 5.0.2-2003
Driver 1.18.00.32

I have read about updating firmware/driver.  If that is the recommendation, how do I do this the right way (production server)
