We were having slow performance issues with our main program our server hosts the data on. We were told we needed more than 4gb of memory on the server. My boss purchased memory 4-4gb chips to add to the server. He installed the new checks in sockets 3-6 and then system showed 20GB of RAM but only 2.99 usable. He then took out the original chips, and inserted two of the new one in the first 2 sockets thinking the different sizes was causing the problem, but wasn't. It still shows only 2.99gb usable with 16gb available.
From the system information screen, it shows the following:
Processor: Intel(r) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6305 # 1.86GHz 1.87GHz
Installed Memory (RAM): 16.0 GB (2.99 Usable)
System Type: 32-bit Operating System, x64 based processor
Windows Edition - Windows 10 Pro N
Does anyone know why the Usable Ram is only showing 2.99GB and how that can be changed due to the new RAM being added?
Please let me know.
