We have a single unit r720xd server and it has been extremely noisy since we purchased it.
A couple days ago I updated the firmware of iDRAC and controller and BOIS then the system became unstable: Flashing orange light came on, the noisy of fans became normal or very less noisy. I barely reinstalled server 2012 r2 after updating it and now windows server goes off after the please wait message.
Earlier at start "Foreign configuration(s) found on adapter Press any key to continue, or 'C' to load the configuration utility." appears I use either C or Cntrl-R but it comes back after rebooting it. One more that I noticed if I remove and put back top cover of the unit the fans becomes so quite, their speed becomes low.
Now the windows server does not start.
