Hi I have a PowerEdge T110 II server running Windows SBS 2011 Standard. It has a set of USB disks which are used with the built-in SBS backup software.
I have an ongoing issue that randomly (ranging from weeks to months) the backups will fail and the event log shows a lot of this same warning:
An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk1\DR9 during a paging operation.
If I try to access the USB disk when this occurs the system will hang for a while and say the disk is not formatted; if left alone the server will become very slow and eventually stop responding + backups don't complete. If the disk is removed and plugged back in then the access is fine and the backups work again.
I have tried different things to rule out the cause: the same issue happens with 3 different disks; chkdsk /r is always ok (no filesystem issues or bad blocks); I have also tried with different ports and cables, and formatted the disks.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this?
Thanks
