Hi All,
I was trying to install OpenManage 8.2 and and am running into the following error:
Unsupported Server... OpenManage 8.2.0 installation cannot continue.. Exiting !!
I'm running CentOS 6.6 and all of our other servers as long as the redhat-release is correct the installer will work.
I even tried installing it via the yum utility and while it installed the services are having issues starting
Dec 15 09:26:53 hlemrbpelp01 dataeng: Systems Management Data Engine: Failed to start because system is not supported
It's almost like OpenManage doesn't think this is a dell system. I had a look at the checksystemtype script and ran the smbios-sys-info-lite
/usr/sbin/smbios-sys-info-lite
Libsmbios: 2.2.27
Error getting the System ID: unknown error.
Error getting the Service Tag: unknown error
Error getting the Aset Tag: unknown error
Error getting the System Name: unknown error.
Error getting the BIOS Version: unknown error.
Error getting the Vendor: unknown error.
Is Dell: 0
Now I don't know if this happened from a firmware update but I called into Dell and didn't get a person that was that knowledgeable with this issue. He suggested I run the updates again and see if that helps. Does this look like it will help or is there some issue with the motherboard/BIOS that is causing this?
