We were gifted a PowerEdge 1800. We are a non profit, have very limited resources, so we were going to reimage it to a Windows 7 machine because a user's desktop just died. However, when I turn it on, I hear the massive sound of the fans initiating (I'm guessing) but it doesn't even beep, and nothing comes on the screen, at all -no Dell logo, nada, nothing, zip. I am suspecting that the previous owner completely wiped the machine, or there is some trick to this machine that I have long since forgotten in the ten years since I last worked with Dell servers. How do you get a machine to boot to CD so that I can get an OS installed on it, because it's not reading the CD drive, either.
