Hello,
I've bought a refurbished Dell R410, with a SAS backplane and an PERC S100 controller. BIOS version 1.12 and PERC version 2.0.0.16*** (or something like that).
My problem is that I cannot get it to recognise any disks, no matter what I do. I've tried to turn off the SATA-controller, set it to RAID, AHCI or ATA. I've tried with (2) SATA disks (SSD), two SAS disks; One 2.5, and one of them an official 3.5 Dell drive. All for naught. The RAID configuration utility is unable to find the disks, and so is the BIOS. Nothing shows up when I try to change the boot order, it just tells me there are no bootable disks.
Now, I'm not sure if I should be seeing some other configuration tool. I've seen a few posts online mention that something should be displayed before the CTRL + R option for the RAID controller, but I don't get anything like that. Just a brief mention of the backplane's version and such. Only if I've turned off the SATA controller though.
I'm at my wits end here, and I'm beginning to wonder if something is broken. As such I was hoping anyone here could be so kind as to help me figure out this mystery?
If you need any more information, please let me know. If I don't know it off hand, I can get it posted on Monday when I get to work.
