We have recently had issues with running system state backups on our Domain Controllers. We just migrated to Server 2008 R2 on Dell PowerEdge R510 machines. We've had a recent issue that when we initiate a system state e backup the Domain Conroller becomes unresponsive and we need to force a reboot. Nothing in the event logs hightlights any disk issue but we can replicate the issue by initiating the system state backup. Has anyone expericed this?
The system state backup is initiated as a batch file that runs as a scheduled task. The commands run are as follows:
WBADMIN START SYSTEMSTATEBACKUP -backupTarget:E: -quiet.
We have 4 Domain Controllers with identical Disk Configurations. When the DCS were setup I confirmed that this was working but in the issue started occuring on 2 of the 4 around Dec of 2014. Has anyone expericed a similar issue that may have been triggered by a Microsoft Update?
