Last week I installed a USB 3.0 PCIe-X1 card and powered the card using an external MOLEX power supply.
The card worked great and was recognized by my Windows 2012 server. I tested it with an external USB
Hard drive and it worked great.
Today there was a power outage and I found that the server had rebooted and halted with the following error:
PCIe Training Error: Embedded .........
System Halted !
I Hard rebooted the server to see if it would go away and the error still occurred.
On the third Attempt, the server would no longer power on. The LCD flashes Amber twice and displays no message.
When I push the power button, nothing happens.
Both power supplies seem OK since the green lights are on.
These are the steps I took to on avail:
1) Removed the PCIe-X1 USB card
2) Removed the PCIe riser and reseated.
3) Tried the RESET Jumper
4) Replaced CMOS battery
5) Unplugged the server from power and pushed the power button for 20 seconds as someone suggested to drain memory power.
At this point I ran out of ideas.
Any suggestions out there would be greatly appreciated.
