I am part of a very small business (3-4 employees) and we are wanting to set-up a server in our office so we can control our own email (currently we use godaddy and they are awful...lots of downtime recently). We also want to have a network sharing folder so everyone in the office can have access to shared files.
We had a nice Chinese IT guy come by and I could barely understand him. I understand that we need multiple static IP address, but when it came to other things like webmail server, and DNS....well I was lost. Apparently we'll need multiple servers???
if anyone can take some time to explain what goes into setting up a server, I'd really really appreciate it.
