In Todd Pietzsch's sticky post titled "Dell System Updates: Week of March 31st - April 4th 2014" http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/servers/f/956/t/19568481.aspx there is a link to BIOS 2.1.0 for PowerEdge R820 dated 3/21/2014. I downloaded and installed this BIOS on multiple production hosts. When I tried to revisit the link earlier today, the page now says "Demoted Driver - The file you are attempting to download is no longer available, and may have been updated or replaced with a newer version. Please visit the Drivers and Downloads page and try your search again." This 2.1.0 BIOS rev is no longer available on the Dell Support site, the latest available is the prior 2.0.20 release.

Can anyone provide information as to EXACTLY why this update was pulled? It would be good to have some information so I can make an informed decision about whether to forcibly revert my systems to 2.0.20. Dell phone support could find no information about the reason it was pulled, except to say " well if you are running on that version now and not having any issues I wouldn't worry about it." That doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling... in my experience there is only one reason that an update that successfully made it through a validation phase and released for public download would be subsequently pulled.
