Hello,
We have a poweredge 2950 in our office that we originally purchased in 2007. Recently I was tasked with performing a few upgrades to it. We added more RAM and updated the processor from a Dual Core Intel® Xeon® 5130 2.0GHz to two Intel Xeon 5160 Dual Core Processor 3.0GHz. Everything is working fine. The next item is the BIOS. We are on version 1.2.0. I down loaded the latest unpackaged version 2.7.0, placed it on a bootable USB. I select F11, hard drive, in the submenu, front USB device. At that point the server just hangs and does not boot. I booted this USB in 2 other computers to make sure it worked. I read through the forum and tried a few options with no luck. The only one I have not tried is jumpering the motherboard to reset the BIOS. If I try that, is there anything I should know about resetting the BIOS?
Also, I am open for other suggestions.
Thanks,
David
