Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon? The LED inside the front panel display gets dimmer with time, with remarkable consistency and reliability.
We have a rack that was deployed from bottom to top over a few months, and the older servers now have dimmer LEDs, whereas the new ones are still very bright. Servers deployed at the same time are equal brightness!
Was this intentional, or is Dell simply using low quality LEDs that become dim with time over a very short period? This isn't a problem per-say, just a curioisity, and a web search on the subject returned nothing.
